"Last summer, a foreign power intervened in our presidential election in an effort to influence the outcome on behalf of one of the candidates.

"That power was Russia, and the candidate was Donald J. Trump, now President of the United States.  This is not a story made up to discredit Mr. Trump, but the consensus conclusion of the entire U.S. intelligence community.

"More ominously, the intelligence community has concluded Vladimir Putin ordered this meddling and will do it again.

The CBO report confirms that, true to form, TrumpCare raises premiums, deductibles and out-of-pocket costs, pushes 24 million Americans off their health care, imposes an age tax on Americans aged 50-64, and undermines Medicare. As bad as TrumpCare already was, the Manager’s Amendment is crueler to Medicaid recipients while handing billions more to the richest Americans.

"House Republicans are putting the health of millions of Americans at greater risk with each change they make to placate party holdouts and pass the American Health Care Act. 

Their latest concession – eliminating commonsense requirements that private plans provide a minimum package of essential benefits – would make this damaging bill even worse. It could leave countless people with too little coverage to meet their health care needs and drive higher rates of uncompensated care at hospitals already struggling to cover their costs."
