CARNEY ANNOUNCES NATIONAL GUARD READINESS HEARINGMay 14, 2007 (WASHINGTON) -- Congressman Christopher P. Carney, Chairman of the Homeland Security Subcommittee on Management, Investigations, and Oversight, announced that he will hold a hearing to examine the National Guard's readiness and equipping levels to respond to domestic emergencies in light of the Guard's repeated and extended deployments overseas.
Rice Testimony PostponedTenet to Cooperate in Committee Investigation
WASHINGTON, DC -- Today Chairman Henry A. Waxman announced that the Oversight Committee will postpone the hearing with Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice from May 15, 2007, to June 19, 2007. The hearing is being postponed to allow former CIA Director George Tenet to testify with Secretary Rice and to accommodate Secretary Rice's travel schedule.
Judiciary Chairman John Conyers responded:
"Monica Goodling is a critical witness to this ongoing investigation. We look forward to hearing her testimony as promptly as possible."
