Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced today that the House Democratic Steering and Policy Committee has recommended to the Democratic Caucus the appointment of Congressman Cedric Richmond to the House Ways and Means Committee and Congresswoman Nanette Barragán to the House Committee on Natural Resources for the 116th Congress.

“In our meeting today with the Foreign Secretary, Chairman Richie Neal and I welcomed his assurances but reiterated the same message that we delivered to the leaders of the U.K. in London last year: if the U.K. violates its international agreements and Brexit undermines the Good Friday accord, there will be absolutely no chance of a U.S.-U.K. trade agreement passing the Congress. The Good Friday Agreement is valued by the American people and will continue to be proudly defended in the United States Congress.”

We are encouraged that after months of the Senate Republicans insisting on shortchanging the massive needs of the American people, President Trump is now calling on Republicans to ‘go for the much higher numbers’ in the next coronavirus relief package.
