Pelosi Statement on Terrorist Attack in Istanbul Airport

San Francisco – House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi today released this statement following the terrorist attack that killed dozens and injured more than 100 people at Ataturk International Airport in Istanbul, Turkey:

"Today, the American people share in the sorrow at the loss of life and pray for all those killed and injured in the terrorist attack at one of the world's busiest airports. For families anxiously awaiting news of their loved ones, first responders rushing to save lives, and people whose lives are forever changed by the brutality of this vicious assault on humanity, America stands with you.

"We must be both strong and smart to confront terrorism abroad and to protect the American people at home. We will offer all appropriate assistance to the people of Turkey, a key ally, in responding to this vile act.
