This afternoon, Leader Schumer and Senator Manchin announced a breakthrough in their negotiations on the Reconciliation bill. This agreement contains many of President Biden's proposals. It is welcome news for House Democrats, who have fought relentlessly to lower the cost of health care, combat the climate crisis and ensure that the biggest corporations and the wealthiest few pay their fair share.

"With the Senate's passage of the CHIPS and Science Act, Congress has taken a key step toward enacting transformative investments to strengthen families' financial future, boost America's research advantage and safeguard our economic and national security for generations to come. We encourage you to hold events throughout the August District Work Period highlighting our work for Lower Costs, Better Paying Jobs, and Safer Communities. We also encourage you to highlight Republican efforts to criminalize women's health care decisions, end Social Security and Medicare, and attack our democracy. To sharpen this contrast between Democrats and extreme MAGA Republicans, we urge you to hold events on three Days of Action, which your constituents may wish to participate in:
