The White House’s spiteful decision to singlehandedly hike Americans’ premiums by 20 percent was cruel, malicious and unlawful.  Regardless of whether President Trump likes it or not, the Affordable Care Act requires the executive branch to make the cost-sharing reduction payments vital to lowering Americans’ premiums.  The District Court should issue the only ruling consistent with the text and structure of the Affordable Care Act: that the Administration must immediately resume making these premium-lowering payments.

From day one, the Trump Administration has cynically worked to sabotage Americans' health care for their partisan political ends, even after the American people overwhelmingly rejected Trumpcare.  With President Trump's executive actions – his latest spiteful efforts to sabotage Americans' health care, raise their costs and gut their coverage – he is hiking health premiums across America just weeks before open enrollment starts on November 1.

What happened to ‘you'll get such low prices for great care'?  Thanks to President Trump:

  • In New Mexico: Premiums will increase 30 percent.
  • In Wisconsin: Premiums will increase 36 percent.
