The White House Doesn’t Come with Training Wheels

This week, as we approach the 100th day of his presidency, President Trump proved once again that he's out of his depth in the White House.  The unpredictable bluster and bravado that was a defining characteristic of Trump in the private sector becomes embarrassing and dangerous for the country when deployed by the President in the Oval Office.

Case in point: this week alone, Trump and his Administration:

  • Promised and then walked back a promise to pull out of NAFTA, which would have threatened U.S. jobs.

  • Promised and then failed (again) to pass Trumpcare, which would have driven up costs and kicked millions off of health care.

Trump's First 100 Days: Governing by Executive Order

It's Day 99 of Trump's presidency, and he has no accomplishments to show for it but a flurry of rushed executive orders to mask his failed legislative agenda.  Even with more executive orders signed in his first 100 days than any new administration since WWII, Trump has done almost nothing to improve the lives of hardworking Americans.

President Trump is the most unpopular president in modern history — and Democrats are hoping to keep it that way.

While negotiating this week with the White House on a plan to avoid a government shutdown and strongly opposed to any new plan to repeal the Affordable Care Act, Senate Minority

Leader Charles E. Schumer (D-N.Y.) and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) are planning to lead a series of events designed to call out Trump's work and words on the economy, trade, health-care reform and his vows to "drain the swamp" in Washington.

The offensive begins Monday with a conference call hosted by Schumer, Pelosi and Tom Perez, the chairman of the Democratic National Committee, and will continue with other events hosted by lawmakers throughout the week.

Leader Pelosi also highlighted that despite President Trump's inaction to support American jobs, Democrats standby ready to work with Republicans to create good paying jobs and reduce the deficit.
