Fewer than eight months after insurrectionists stormed the U.S. Capitol to beat police officers and threaten the lives of Capitol workers, journalists, Members of Congress and Congressional staffers, Republican Representative Madison Cawthorn (NC-11) is calling for another January 6th-style attack.
And like he has several times this year, Minority Leader McCarthy is refusing to take action against a member of his conference who is calling for violence.
San Francisco – Speaker Nancy Pelosi issued this statement after the President delivered remarks upon the conclusion of the war in Afghanistan:
"Today, America and the world observe a milestone of extraordinary solemnity: the end of the twenty-year war in Afghanistan. As Speaker, I commend the President for his strong, steadfast leadership in ending a forever war. As the President stated today, too many men and women in uniform and their families have had to bear the burden of this conflict.
San Francisco – Speaker Nancy Pelosi issued the following statement after the Supreme Court issued a ruling blocking the Biden Administration from enforcing the CDC's temporary moratorium on evictions, putting hundreds of thousands of families at risk of eviction during the pandemic:
"Earlier this month, thanks to the leadership of President Biden and Congressional Democrats, the imminent fear of eviction and being put out on the street was lifted for countless families across America with the issuing of a new CDC eviction moratorium. Last night, the Supreme Court immorally ripped away that relief in a ruling that is arbitrary and cruel.
