House Republicans do not back the blue. Former Capitol Police Chief Terrance Gainer made that clear today when he called out House Republicans for ignoring and attempting to counterprogram the testimony of officers who risked their lives to protect the Capitol on January 6th.

Washington, D.C. – Speaker Nancy Pelosi today announced that Emily Berret, longtime Director of Operations in the Office of the Speaker, has been named Deputy Chief of Staff, following the departure of Diane Dewhirst. Berret joins Deputy Chiefs of Staff George Kundanis and Drew Hammill in this role.
"Today, with pride, I am pleased to announce that Emily Berret, who has served for nearly a decade in my office, will take on a new role as Deputy Chief of Staff in the Office of the Speaker," said Speaker Nancy Pelosi. "Emily is professionalism and public service personified. Her strong institutional knowledge and mastery of Congressional operations will continue to serve this institution and the American people well, as she begins this new position."
