Washington, D.C. – Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi released the following statement after four people were killed and many wounded by a truck driven into a crowd of Israeli soldiers in Jerusalem:

"The American people share in the outrage at the terror attack on Israelis in Jerusalem yesterday.  Our hearts and prayers are with the victims, with those recovering in hospitals, and with the loved ones of those whose lives were taken.

"The United States' commitment to Israel's security is and will remain unbreakable.  As partners and allies, we are committed to working together to defeat terrorism and to strengthen the security of Israel."

Washington, D.C. – Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi released the following statement on the mass shooting at the Fort Lauderdale International Airport in Fort Lauderdale, Florida:

"Today, five Americans lost their lives and many more were wounded in a mass shooting at the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.  We are grateful for the first responders who are providing aid and comfort to the injured survivors and the families of those who were killed in this gun violence tragedy.

"Our hearts ache for those killed in this senseless attack, and we pray for the swift recovery of all who were wounded.  No words can replace the loss of loved ones.  No moments of silence can quiet the voices across America calling for action.

Washington, D.C. – Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi released the following statement today after the Department of Labor announced that the economy added a total of 156,000 jobs in December.  With 144,000 private sector jobs being added in December, the economy has added a total of 15.8 million private sector jobs since early 2010.

"The economy continues to move forward, but December's jobs report reiterates the need for Congress to come together and take bold action to create more good-paying jobs.

Washington, D.C. – Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi released the following statement on the release of a new Commonwealth Fund and Milken Institute School of Public Health report, detailing the state-by state economic and employment consequences of Republicans' plan to repeal the Affordable Care Act:

"Repealing the Affordable Care Act would have devastating consequences for the health of American families and the health of the American economy.  Not only would Americans see their premiums soar and their coverage collapse, Republicans' repeal of the ACA would be responsible for the loss of roughly 2.6 million jobs across the nation – and the loss of more than $250 billion of gross state products in 2019 alone.  Family budgets and state budgets alike would be rocked by the reverberations of the ACA's repeal.

Washington, D.C. – Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi announced today that the House Democratic Steering Committee has recommended to the Democratic Caucus that Congressman Donald Norcross of New Jersey be appointed to the House Education & Workforce Committee.

"Congressman Donald Norcross is a proud member of IBEW Local 351 and knows that America's working men and women are the economic backbone of our nation," Leader Pelosi said.  "On the Education and Workforce Committee, Congressman Norcross continues his life-long fight for the life-long learning and good-paying jobs needed to build a better future for all."

The full Democratic Caucus is expected to consider this nomination next week.
