Press Releases
Dear Democratic Colleague,
Together with President Biden, we have created more than 1.5 million jobs since he took office – the most ever created in a president's first 100 days. The economy is growing faster than at any time in the last 40 years. And more than half of U.S. adults are now vaccinated.
The American Rescue Plan is working. But, we cannot afford to miss an opportunity to Build Back Better with millions of Americans still out of work.
San Francisco – Speaker Nancy Pelosi issued the following statement in honor of LGBTQ Pride Month:
"Every June, Americans celebrate the beauty, bravery and vibrancy of our cherished LGBTQ communities and commemorate the remarkable progress our nation has made toward full equality. Just five decades ago, proud activists at the Stonewall Inn boldly rejected centuries of hatred and persecution in a moment that changed America and, indeed, the world. During Pride Month, we carry on what began in the streets of New York City, proudly marching to demand an end to bigotry and to advance the cause of justice.
Washington, D.C. — Speaker Nancy Pelosi issued this statement on the passing of former Senator John Warner of Virginia:
"The country has lost a great patriot. Senator John Warner was a hero in the military, a respected leader in the Senate and an inspiration to all with his joy for life.
"Senator John Warner was an historic force in Virginia politics and in the Senate in his thirty years of service. As a World War II and Korean War veteran and former Secretary of the Navy, John Warner brought exceptional experience and respect for our troops to his position as Chairman of the Armed Services Committee. In Congress, we all knew him as a voice of courage, conviction and comity; a leader unafraid to speak the truth but always committed to finding common ground and consensus.
