September's jobs report shows our economy continues to move forward. However, it also clearly shows that Congress must do more to create good-paying jobs and increase the paychecks of hard-working Americans across the nation.

Today represents a proud milestone for the Paris Climate Agreement and a vital step forward in confronting the climate crisis that threatens our world.

In celebration of the rich diversity of people of many religions, races, and regions who enrich our great democracy, let us each strive to remember the promise of a new year as we work together to create a stronger America for all.

We had time to pass a legislation that recognizes that increasing the paycheck of America's workers helps to grow the economy for everyone; no minimum wage; no equal pay for equal work; no paid sick leave; none of that, on the part of this Congress.
