Instead of taking the threat of an imminent, catastrophic default off the table, Republicans have wasted time on extremist grandstanding and are gearing up to skip town without a plan

House Republicans, led by Trey Gowdy and far-right GOP Members, spent 11 hours pointlessly grilling Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton yesterday – further illustrating their extremist political ideology that’s been abusing taxpayer money.

If you want to lead radical House Republicans, here’s the sad reality: you have to promise to stonewall commonsense immigration reform.

Another new poll released today by CNN demonstrates what Americans have long known and what Republicans continue to blatantly admit: the Benghazi Committee is a politically-motivated charade.  From CNN:

The Republican Majority Leader admitted that the Benghazi Select Committee is a taxpayer-funded political smear campaign. So too have Members of the House Republican Conference.

Congress has only 9 legislative days to act to protect the full faith and credit of the United States, but House Republicans’ total dysfunction threatens a first-ever U.S. default.

GOP differences over the next House speaker are not being well received: Just 29 percent of Americans see this as “healthy debate,” while 59 percent see it as “a sign of dysfunction” among House Republicans.

It’s time for House Republicans to end the drama, drop their Calendar of Chaos and join with Democrats on a path to progress for the American people.
