Washington, D.C. – Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced today that the House Democratic Caucus has approved the House Democratic Steering & Policy Committee's recommendation that Congresswoman Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick, who was sworn in on January 18th to represent Florida's 20th Congressional District, join the House Education & Labor Committee and the House Committee on Veterans' Affairs for the 117th Congress.

Washington, D.C. – Speaker Nancy Pelosi issued the following statement on House Democrats holding one thousand events across the nation highlighting the historic investments in workers and communities in the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act:

"Over the last two months, House Democrats have barnstormed the nation to bring the good news of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law to the American people. As of today, House Democrats have hosted more than one thousand events around the nation, highlighting how Democrats Deliver For The People.

Washington, D.C. – Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Congressional Black Caucus Chairwoman Joyce Beatty and HBCU Caucus Founder and Co-Chair Alma Adams issued the following joint statement:

"The continued bomb threats against HBCUs are hate crimes that must be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. This third round of bomb threats on Historically Black College and University campuses demands a swift response from federal and state law enforcement agencies.It is especially jarring that these threats come during Black History Month, when we not only celebrate the immense contributions of Black Americans, but also remember the violence so many had to endure to secure civil rights and voting rights.

"Every Black History Month, America celebrates the resilient leadership, determined advocacy and unrelenting courage that the Black community has brought to our history and democracy. As we remember with open eyes the injustices of the past, we also recognize the inequities of the present: from the scourges of systemic racism and police violence to the plights of economic inequality and health disparity, which have been exacerbated by the pandemic. We once again declare that Black Lives Matter while carrying on our fight to make real the promise of this creed.
